Are you ready for style trends 2024? Here’s everything you need to know about the hottest fashion trends coming down the runway!
Style trends in 2024 are super exciting with many designers continuing the homage to the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and even 2010s. The style world still favored rosettes, super high-rise waists, quiet luxury, and cut-out styles on the runways during fashion week.
Models at Paris and New York Fashion Week featured drop-waist dresses and skirts at Phillip Lim and Prabal to metallic-obsessed at Ralph Lauren and Tom Ford. Sculptural elements and draping were found at runway shows for Isabel Marant and Laquan Smith. Millennial Pink is back in a big way thanks to the Barbie movie and designers Tory Burch, Christian Siriano, and Carolina Herrera.
As always on WISW, we’re covering the most wearable fashion trends that will be popular in 2024. And if you’re anything like me, you’ll expect to start wearing them right now.
This post is all about style trends 2024.
Style Trends 2024 At Fashion Week
1. Funeralcore: Head-To-Toe Black
Not surprisingly, one of the biggest fashion trends coming out of fashion month is monochrome outfits in head-to-toe black. Despite the bleakness of the term, funeralcore, you may be jumping for joy right now.
Who doesn’t love an all-black outfit? As they say, “When in doubt, wear black”.
This trend isn’t your typical goth aesthetic, although it’s inclusive of it. However, it’s more like taking any aesthetic or style type, such as quiet luxury, and dressing it all in black. This is a great way to seamlessly incorporate the other 2024 fashion trends for women without being too much.
I’m quite the fan of adding one contrasting element such as a scarf, belt, or pair of shoes to give an all-black outfit some contrast. Add edgy accessories with stud details, giving Alexander McQueen vibes.
Maybe even add bold lip or nail color, too.
Inspired by power dressing from the ’80s, try this modern idea of matching suit separates styled with a black shirt and black shoes. Swap that basic white t-shirt out for a similar design in black.
Or try a black cardigan with a black lace top underneath, styled with black jeans and black loafers.
Wear pleated skirts and dresses with a chic pair of black tights. And don’t forget black sunglasses. These have been on my list for a few months now.

2. Shades Of Blue
One of the hottest color trends for 2024 is inspired by calming, oceanic shades of blue and sea foam green. Seen on the runway in sheer dresses, tailored pieces, and knitwear, the colors evoke a serene elegance that contrasts with the bold reds of the prior season.
You can’t go wrong with a gorgeous blue dress for a spring or summer wedding or cocktail party.
Dress a light blue sweater with a pair of straight-leg jeans and a collared shirt for a casual, everyday outfit that you can dress up or down with jewelry and nice shoes.
Or, maybe you’ll try an ethereal pair of blue trousers as your statement pants for the season?

3. Metallic Mania
Metallics have been on the rise since last year, and runways have reserved them for much longer than the holiday season. In addition to gold and silver, 2024 fashion trends also included bronze, rose gold, and champagne.
Go big on this trend with a bomber or moto jacket (like at Simone Rocha) that makes the perfect concert outfit, styled with a cropped t-shirt and a pair of faux leather pants or denim.
There’s nothing a pair of silver pumps won’t do for a night out to a jazz club, or a smart casual office for the everyday fashionista.
Go easy with the metallic trend with a waist belt, a clutch, or a headband. Extra points for styling a small metallic accessory with all-black clothes, effortlessly combining aesthetics with ease.

4. The Polo Shirt
The popular academia aesthetic continues in 2024 fashion but is inspired by the much simpler polo shirt, keeping things casual. Designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Gucci, Dries Van Noten, and The Row featured the classic piece in their collections.
I love it as an alternative to a basic T-shirt, styled with a maxi skirt or a pair of satin cargo pants or joggers. I bet there are plenty of retro styles out there for all you thrifters and vintage lovers.
Don’t skip the chance to own the style in a knit material, blending the styles of casual and chic with must-have wardrobe essentials like a pair of Ponte-knit pants and ballet flats.

5. Must Have Been The Roses
With the rosette trend still going strong on runways, designers decided to pull out all the stops with florals for 2024 fashion, adding more “life” to the look with 3D details like at Simone Rocha. Think sheer dresses with stunning floral applique (stems included), or rose graphics on separates, like at Kenzo.
I love the blend of romance and playfulness this trend brings. Classic and life-like colors for roses and other florals or monochromatic and tonal color palettes are the best way to take on this romantic trend.
Pro-Tip: Smaller floral prints can sometimes look cheap, especially from budget and high-street brands. Opt for larger prints over small patterns, especially for dresses, if you want to level up your look.

6. The Cropped Blazer
The cropped blazer is a breath of fresh air from the past seasons’ oversized styles. It’s the perfect jacket to pair with those ultra-high waistlines also seen on designers.
Wear yours on a night out with friends or with a dress to an event. Add it to refresh your capsule wardrobe and dawn it with everything from mini dresses to maxi skirts.
Cropped jackets are especially flattering when the hem falls at the smallest part of your waist, perfect for hourglass and pear-shaped women. Boxy, minimalist, cropped blazers (inspired by quiet luxury) are great for rectangle shapes. Wear yours with a pair of high-waisted jeans for a spring daytime look.
Find a length that works for your body shape to layer over a slim-fitting top giving your outfit depth and maintaining your natural silhouette.

7. Drape It Good
Last on the list of 2024 fashion trends is draped fabric, like at Tory Burch, creating volume without bulk. Expect goddess-like and ethereal, gathering, ruching, or long trains that move, flow, and feel good to the touch.
Silk, satin, gossamer, stretchy knits, and similar fabrics are your go-to’s when adding these items to your wardrobe this year. Look for high-quality materials for an ultra-sleek and expensive look.
Give that LBD aGive that LBD a break by adding a breezy white dress to your wardrobe for the spring and summer. Or try a chic ruched top in satin for your next date night or under a blazer at the office. Mix a dressy ruched top with a pair of denim for a night out with girlfriends.
Aside from the obvious, designers have also added a twist to your everyday wardrobe essentials by incorporating drapey embellishments using sleek, structured fabrics.

I’m also excited about these trends. I purchased an amazing French blue blazer with beautiful structuring and have been styling it with band t-shirts when I go out. And you can’t ever be sad about metallics :). Thanks for reading!
